You are completely immune to destruction as long as you keep your hands tightly gripped around the Quran and the Sunnah.

As-salamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh.
My dear brothers and sisters, look me in the eyes today and tell me: what are you searching for in this chaotic world? Every single day, we wake up and drown in a sea of opinions. You open your phone, and a thousand different voices are telling you how to live, how to think, what to value, and what to fear. Everyone claims to have the answers, yet humanity has never been more anxious, more confused, or more lost.
But right here, resting on our shelves, wrapped in beautiful cloths, is a speech. Not the speech of a philosopher, a politician, or an influencer. It is the speech of the Lord of the Worlds. And Allah opens this magnificent text with a declaration that shatters every doubt:
"This is the Book about which there is no doubt, a guidance for those conscious of Allah." (Surah Al-Baqarah, 2:2)
Think about the weight of those words. When a human being writes a book, what do they do in the introduction? They apologize. They write a preface saying, "If there are any mistakes or oversights, please forgive me." Because human knowledge is weak, limited, and fragile. But when Allah introduces His Book, He declares the absolute opposite: La Rayba Fih—there is absolutely zero doubt, zero error, zero flaw inside these pages. It is a absolute certainty in a world full of guesswork.
But look closely at the second part of the verse. Allah says it is Hudan lil-Muttaqin—a guidance for those who have Taqwa, those who are conscious of Him.
Let me give you a practical example so we can truly feel this reality. Imagine you are driving a car in the middle of a pitch-black night, during a violent tropical storm. The rain is blinding, the roads are flooded, and the wind is trying to push you off the cliff. In your hands, you have a highly advanced GPS navigation system that charts the perfect, safest path through the storm.
But tell me, what happens if you leave that GPS turned off, rolling around on the floor of your passenger seat, while you blindly try to steer through the dark? The device is perfect, but it cannot save you if you do not use it. You will crash.
My dear congregation, this Dunya is that violent, dark storm, and the Quran is that flawless, divine navigation system. Many of us treat the Quran like a decorative piece or a good luck charm. We kiss it, we place it on the highest shelf, we play it beautifully in the background while we sleep, but we keep the navigation system turned off in our daily decisions! We don't read it to understand; we don't look to it to solve our financial struggles, our family disputes, or our psychological pain.
To get Huda—to get that divine guidance—you must approach the Quran with the heart of a Muttaqi. You must open it with a desperate heart that says, "Ya Allah, I am lost, and only Your words can navigate me through this life."
When you plug your mind into this Book, it clears the fog. It tells you exactly what is valuable and what is worthless. It comforts your broken heart when the world lets you down, and it disciplines your ego when you start to go astray. It is a living, breathing guide that promises to hold your hand through the darkness of this world until it safely deposits you into the gardens of Jannah.
Let us leave this gathering today with a firm vow to change our relationship with Allah’s speech. Do not let a single day pass where your eyes do not look at its pages, and your heart does not ponder its meanings. Let this Book be the anchor of your life, the absolute standard of your truth, and the light that guides your every step.
(The Second Khutbah - Continued)
My dear brothers and sisters, welcome back your hearts to this reminder. Look at how beautifully, yet terrifyingly, Allah warns us about what happens when a human being chooses to unplug from His divine navigation system. If you choose to ignore this Quran, if you leave it resting on your shelves as a decoration while trying to steer through the chaotic, blinding storms of this Dunya using only your limited intellect, your wealth, or the opinions of influencers, Allah tells us exactly what the outcome will be.
Listen to this heavy, piercing declaration from Surah Taha (20:124):
"And whoever turns away from My remembrance - indeed, he will have a depressed, suffocating life, and We will gather him on the Day of Resurrection blind."
Let these words shake the very core of your soul today. Notice what Allah is saying here. He does not say that the one who turns away from the Quran will automatically lose all their money, their houses, or their worldly success. No! You could have millions sitting in your bank account. You could have a massive following on social media. You could be dressed in the finest clothes and driving the most expensive cars. But Allah promises an absolute, cosmic law: Fa-inna lahu ma'ishatan dhanka—they will suffer through a tight, restricted, suffocating inner life.
It is the spiritual suffocation we see all around us today in the modern world. People have everything on the outside, yet they are drowning in anxiety, burning with depression, and constantly medicating their minds just to survive the night. Why? Because the human heart was manufactured by Allah, and it can only find oxygen when it breathes in the verses of the Quran! When you cut off the oxygen, the soul suffocates, no matter how rich your body is.
But for those who decide to hold fast to it, this Book becomes an unbreakable shield. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) left us with a final, eternal guarantee before he departed this life, ensuring that his Ummah would never have to wander in the dark. In a powerful Hadith narrated by Imam Malik, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood before his companions and declared:
"I have left two things among you; you will never go astray as long as you hold fast to them: the Book of Allah and the Sunnah of His Prophet."
SubhanAllah! Think deeply about the phrase the Prophet ﷺ used: Lan Tadhillu—you will never, ever go astray. This is not a guess; it is a divine guarantee. It means no matter how dark the night gets, no matter how toxic the internet becomes, no matter how confusing the modern ideologies on your phone seem, and no matter how heavy your personal, financial, or emotional trials feel—you are completely immune to destruction as long as you keep your hands tightly gripped around the Quran and the Sunnah.
My dear congregation, let us look at ourselves honestly before we leave this masjid. We must stop treating the Quran like a good luck charm or a book we only open when someone passes away. We must bring it down from the high shelves and place it at the center of our lives. When you face a financial dilemma, don't just look at what the secular world says; open the Book of Allah and ask what is halal and pleasing to Him. When your family life is fractured, don't just rely on your anger; look to the Quran for patience and justice.
Let us leave this gathering today with a firm vow to change our daily routine. Do not let the sun set on a single day where your eyes have not looked at these pages, and your mind has not paused to ponder their weight. Let this Book be the anchor that keeps you steady while the rest of the world is spinning out of control.
